“It was meant to be free, not bound.” 🐴✨
Six months ago, I started this needle-felted horse with my grandma at @yuanhedaqian . It flew overseas with me shortly after, only to sit on my shelf when life got busy, with no one around to nudge me to finish it.
When I picked up the needle again yesterday, I started out following the mold’s defined boundaries. Then came a spark as I placed a loose tuft of wool. I heard my inner voice: let it grow wild.
Five broken needles later, a creature made for the open sky emerged, with the original saddle area resting quietly underneath.
Meanwhile, Grandma’s horse (left) had been waiting six months for mine to catch up, expertly crafted in rich earth tones with her classic saddle.
